From a technology point of view, Contelligent is a J2EE based application that is deployable in all modern J2EE-enabled IT-infrastructures (e.g.application servers, like JBoss, WLS, Websphere, etc.). In general, it includes a client and a server component.

The Contelligent Client provides a universal and extensible frontend for almost any work related to contelligent. Namely those are: administration, development, editing and publishing. Those tasks can be easily performed by solely using the standard contelligent-client included in any Contelligent distribution. The client can be extended in almost any way by so called Contelligent-Modules. This enables integrators and developers of contelligent applications to implement a highly optimized frontend for all critical and heavily recurring tastks performed with your content management system.

In general, Contelligent has been designed to be modular from the very first beginning and can be extended in any feasible way; either on server-side or on client-side. This provide companies that deployed contelligent as their primary web CMS with the option to differentiate themselves and gain competitive advantage by using higly individualized Contelligent Components rather than stock elements included in the Contelligent Standard Edition.
