Web-CMS Contelligent® 9.1 released as Open Source

The C1 Financial Services GmbH today released the new Version 9.1 of the Web Content Management System Contelligent as Open Source under the LGPL license.

With this, we will improve the utility of the software for third-party integrators and make it available to a broader user base. Also, this step will enable external developers to make functional improvements on the software when needed.

The decision to release Contelligent as Open Source was made because of the growing role of revenue from consulting and custom development compared to classical licensing fees over the past years.

In addition to the new license model, this new version of Contelligent offers many major and minor enhancements over the previous release. Among those enhancements are an updated user interface for the Swing-based client software, syntax highlighting, integrated WebDAV support, an enhanced security concept with support for more complex deployment scenarios, as well as a streamlined installation process.

Contelligent runs on most common servlet containers; the officially supported platforms include Tomcat, JBoss and Orion.

Contelligent 9.0.18, the next release of the smart component-based Content Management System developed by the German software and consulting experts, C1-FSE GmbH (http://www.c1-fse.de), is ready for download. This latest release features some minor bug-fixes and improved security. Contelligent 9.0.18 is free for development, educational and non-commercial use and can now be found in the Contelligent download section.

Contelligent 9.0.16, the next release of the smart component-based Content Management System developed by the German software and consulting experts, C1-FSE GmbH (http://www.c1-fse.de), is ready for download. This latest release contains both, feature enhancements and some bug-fixes. Contelligent 9.0.16 is free for development, educational and non-commercial use and can now be found in the Contelligent download section.

It includes a critical fix that prevents privilege escalation during previews. In addition a bug was fixed, that could cause some minor glitches when using SortedFolder components in edit-servers.

Feature enhancements include a new render mode 'path' for Binary and Page components, as well as the capability to configure Mime-Types and extensions for Page components. In addition a standard category resolver (URLResolver) was added that allows you to determine categories based on the URL of the request.

This spotlight article features important details on howto setup and enable Contelligent Single-Sign-On Technology in Active Directory driven intranets. An important new feature of Contelligent 9 is a full integration with Windows Active Directory domains, enabling centralized user administration and allowing users to access Contelligent through their Windows domain login without having to reenter their password.

Most important feature enhancement include a completely redesigned client preferences window. The new window was redesigned with a strong emphasis on ease of use. From 15.9. to 19.9., C1 Group's specialist for content management and IT-solutions for financial services firms, C1 Financial Services, presented their content management system Contelligent at the Hamburg-based trade fair IT:M. Im Mittelpunkt standen dabei die Demonstration und das Erklären der neuen Contelligent Professional Edition. Diese speziell für mittelständische Lösungen geschaffene Contelligent Paket verbindet Enterprise Erfahrungen und Technologien mit Flexibilität und Preismodellen für den Mittelstand.
